Founded in Silicon Valley, California, USA in 1982, it was listed on the Nasdaq in 1986, announced in 1988 that it would be listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and announced in October 2009 that it would be changed to the Nasdaq. In July 2016, it announced the acquisition of Broadcom Limited's Internet of Things business.
