Cypress is a well-known electronic chip manufacturer, and its Chinese name is Cypress. Cypress is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and provides chip solutions in a wide range of fields such as data communications and consumer electronics.

Founded in Silicon Valley, California, USA in 1982, it was listed on the Nasdaq in 1986, announced in 1988 that it would be listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and announced in October 2009 that it would be changed to the Nasdaq. Major competitors include Microchip Technology, NXP Semiconductors, Renesas Electronics, and Micron Technology.

In July 2016, it announced the acquisition of Broadcom Limited's Internet of Things business.

In June 2019, Infineon announced the acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor for US$10 billion.
